IAN THOMSON SPECIALIZES IN HAVING IDEAS AND REALIZING THEM VISUALLY.

As a director and designer for television, theatre, film and advertising - I develop and implement concepts for advertising agencies (campaigns & TVCs), TV program makers (titles, promos, program & studio design) as well as for print (corporate identity & print campaigns) and interactive media (websites, DVDs & cross media projects).

I graduated from Sydney College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Arts - majoring in Visual Communications.
Over the past years I’ve gathered extensive international experience - which has included working in London (The Frame Store), Barcelona (Oframe Store), Sydney (The Videopaintbrush Company - now Animal Logic), Byron Bay (Utopia Creative Advertising), Vienna (DMC) and Hamburg (Head of Design for PREMIERE & Senior AD at DMC).

Since 2003 I have been working as a freelance creative director, designer and director and am based in Hamburg, Germany.

In addition to my commercial work I have directed TV documentaries and theatrical plays. I recently wrote, directed and produced my first original play. I am very interested in new screen writing and directing projects.

I have a keen feeling for storytelling, good design and people.
